My So Called Kindle Life Kares

I am so happy to report that after first tweeting and posting our new fundraising efforts for My So Called Kindle Life Kares we have already had people and even one publisher donate to our schools. Every cent will be spent on books, ebooks, ebook readers, and book related materials.

The schools on the Cumberland Plateau of Southern Appalachia are in dire economic need. The students come from families on the lowest rung of the socio-economic scale. An amazing number of parents are unable to read. We hope our efforts will reach the entire family. We are starting small and hope to grow big!

Every penny helps. Thank you so very much. Just click on the donate button on the right and you will be directed to PayPal - you do not have to be a member of PayPal to donate.

New Fiction Releases July 26 to July 29 Kindle

Close Your Eyes: A Novel

Spell Bound (Otherworld, Book 12)

The Autobiography of Mrs. Tom Thumb: A Novel

I spent last week engrossed in several great books but am really looking forward to two of this weeks new fiction releases for kindle. The Autobiography of Mrs. Tom Thumb by Melanie Benjamin and Close Your Eyes by Amanda Eyre Ward.

Hot on the heels of the release of Water for Elephants, the movie version of the wonderful novel, circus and curiosity novels set around the turn of the century are getting a lot of press. But are they all good? I have heard from several friends who read early copies of The Autobiography of Mrs. Tom Thumb that is was excellent. Who knew? I was not even aware he he had a wife, let alone the whole back story and melodrama. I downloaded it on my kindle as soon as it was available.

Close Your Eyes is receiving advance praise as a super whodunit. I love a good mystery and if they are really good I will gobble them up in one sitting...I hope this one delivers. There is an awesome interview with the author on the Amazon Kindle page that made me download the novel as soon as it was available for kindle. Click on the book to read the interview and download the novel for your kindle.

Happy Birthday: A NovelPortrait of a SpyBurnt MountainThe big day is here for fans of Anne River Siddons and Daniel Silva. Two of summer's biggest blockbusters are now available for download on your kindle and on bookstore shelves.

Burnt Mountain is the long awaited new release from Anne River Siddons. This author always delivers a walloping good southern family story. Burnt Mountain tells the story of Thayer Wentworth, a southern woman who is devastatingly betrayed by her mother. Read about Thayer and the man she loves in Burnt Mountain. This book is a winner. I can only say you WILL LOVE IT! I will post a review soon, but don't wait to download it to your kindle!

Daniel Silva opens the week with a book that is already on bestseller lists. Portrait of a Spy follows ex-Israeli spy master and art restorer Gabriel Allon on his latest globe trotting tip through a terror filled world. I can't put this one down.

Iron House by John Hart

Two babies left to die in an icy creak. Two boys who must fight to survive. Two men, two very different lives. One unbreakable bond.

When a twelve-year-old boy murders his tormentor in their brutal orphanage, his older brother takes the blame and runs to New York – into the heart of organized crime. Two decades later, Michael returns to North Carolina with a sentence on his head, the mob in hot pursuit and his long-lost brother in trouble of a different kind. With vast sums in play, political fortunes at risk and bodies piling up, the brothers must reunite to solve the mystery of their shared past.

I knew it was going to be one hot summer when I first heard John Hart (King of Lies, Down River), was releasing a new book in July. Wow. He delivers with Iron House. This isn't a tenative, toe-stepping plotline for anyone looking for a safe and easy read. It is a powerhouse - so forceful I dare you to put it down until you finish.

What makes this book so stunning and captivating is that you think you know what is happening, you have it all solved, but then you really don't. You may start congratulating yourself for solving difficult situations only to find Hart came up with an even crazier solution!

John Hart gives us wonderful characters to follow through the story. Michael is the protagonist. At first he is a stone cold killer - but Hart molds him into something else completely throughout the novel. Michael has so many layers is like dealing with a rogue family member.

Clear your weekend, or week, and read this book. Download it on your Kindle today. Iron House is simply amazing. How far will one man go to ensure his brother's safety? And what will he find along the journey...corruption, greed, and loyalty.

After you finish you will be wanting more! Download The Last Child by John Hart. This is my favorite by this author. Oh, I am not even going to give anything away, just download it, savor it, and let me know what you think.

New Fiction Releases July 12 Kindle Hardback

The list is short and sweet this week, like many middle of the month release lists seem to be. I am jumping on John Hart's new Iron House. His novels always deliver a big punch. Down River is one of my favorites.

Jennifer Weiner fans have been waiting for today. Then Came You is now available and you can download it on your kindle! All the early reviews are good for this novel. I hate to admit it, but I have never read a Jennifer Weiner novel, on Kindle or hardback or paperback. I have not been avoiding her work for any specific reason. I just run out of time...that old saying: Too many books, too little time...But this one sounds enticing and I plan to download it on my Kindle.
